Annual Cookout

Saturday August 21

Thanks for volunteering for UCF’s Annual Cookout. We expect over 1,000 freshmen will be served. We will continue if it rains, but on a smaller scale.  There are a lot of roles volunteers can take and because this weekend students are moving in, the cookout is UCF’s only non-student led event. Returning UCF students will be around to help, but not in large numbers. We need your help.

If you wish to volunteer, all you need to do is complete the form below. It will walk you through the various options that you can choose to participate in. Thanks in advance for serving your campus ministry and our newest college students.

Arrival

Please plan to arrive 25 minutes prior to your shift start time. Parking will be available only across from campus at Advent Lutheran Church. A shuttle van will take volunteers to and from the cookout site. Please don’t attempt to park on campus unless you are faculty-staff we promise no parking will be available. Advent Lutheran is located at 8840 University City Blvd. just a block south of the main entrance to UNC Charlotte.

Weather

Although we are serving dinner, do plan to wear sunscreen and clothes for hot weather. If it rains, we still may serve as many students may still come and summer showers sometimes fade quickly.

Supplies

We can always use plates, napkins, and cups. Bottles of ketchup and mustard are also welcome. Coolers and grills are also very welcome. If you allow us to borrow a cooler or grill please mark them carefully so we can return them in good condition. Items will be accepted at the Student Center at Advent Lutheran Church Friday August 20, anytime prior to 4pm.
